Fernando Sosa was born in New York, NY and was raised in the borough of Queens, NY. His love for cooking began at a very early age, where his palette was filled with different flavors and spices from the Caribbean. He also enjoys sharing his love of cooking with everyone he meets always creating great feasts in his home. Fernando is married to Selina and has three sons Justin, Elijah and Jeremiah.
We have requests upon request for our freshly made empanadas. WE HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR!!!. We are going to concentrate on our empanadas and try and reach as many towns in Texas that we can possibly reach. We have sold out of our empanadas since we first started Flavor Of The Islands back in 2017 at the Dallas Farmers Market. We are not stopping anything else we make, we are just going to place our efforts on our empanadas. Beef, Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken, Pizza, and even breakfast empanadas and so much more. Our Vegetarian empanada has also been a favorite and trust me you won't miss the meat.
You can find empanadas throughout all of the Latin American countries and they all have their own distinct flavors and styles. Flavor of the Islands style has always been a mix of Dominican and Puerto Rican food. If you have tasted them, then you know our flavors, if you have not, then I think you should just try one and let your tastebuds decide.
